By using Sanitize My Data (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of the Service
The Service provides AI-assisted detection and masking of personally identifiable information (PII) in text. It is provided as-is, free of charge, for personal and professional use.
3. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” without any warranty, express or implied. We do not guarantee that all PII will be detected and masked. You are responsible for reviewing the sanitized output before sharing it. Do not rely solely on this tool for legal compliance (e.g. GDPR anonymization obligations).
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or extract PII from masked output
- Submit text containing illegal content
- Abuse the API (automated flooding, scraping, or circumventing rate limits)
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, including any data breach resulting from incomplete PII masking.
6. Intellectual property
The source code for this project is available on GitHub under an open-source license. The underlying NER models are licensed separately by their respective authors on HuggingFace.
7. Changes
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes are published constitutes acceptance.
